Korean Tea Cookie Festival by tsoystar

The Korean Tea Cookie Festival is a fragrant holiday that will lift the veil of mystery of the oldest dessert in South Korea. Round cookies Dasik belong to traditional Korean confectionery products and have been baked since the 10th century using wheat, sesame, soy and chestnut.

How did it live so long? After all, there is nothing to catch the eye: no cream, no lush biscuits, just an uncomplicated decorative pattern on a rough round surface. However, you need to ripen at the root: natural flavours — wheat, sesame, soy and chestnut — are what make the sweet baby a titan of Korean baking.

Jungkook of BTS is the ambassador of the Festival. He admits that the dashik cookies are one of his few favorite sweets that remind him of his childhood. Fans note that choosing Jungkook as the face of the festival is a very cute gesture. “This is purely a fandom joke, but Jungkook-ie is our cookie!”

Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the history and techniques of making dasik cookies, as well as participate in open workshops of various artists — Russian-Korean artists, architects and fashion designers.

Special thanks should be given to the Russian Higher School of Economics (HSE Art and Design School) and to the tutor Tanya Dunaeva. Mockup templates and cookie photos belong to their copyright holders. Photos with Jungkook are taken from VOGUE Korea magazine (Park Jongha) and McDonald’s and HYBE Labels Twitter (X) accounts.
