This Ramadan chocolate packaging project was developed as a premium rigid gifting box that combines cultural storytelling with manufacturing discipline—designed to protect delicate assorted chocolates while delivering a ceremonial unboxing experience. The concept centers on a radial geometric mandala motif that reads as heritage-inspired ornamentation at first glance, then reveals its precision through gold foil detailing, controlled line weight, and clean alignment across the lid panels. Three color directions (deep black, warm copper, and light silver) were produced to support seasonal gifting tiers and retail differentiation without changing the structural platform.
Structurally, the box is built as a rigid set-up format engineered for stability, stackability, and clean lid fit—important for high-volume seasonal demand. Inside, the assortment is organized with a partitioned grid system that keeps each chocolate in its own cell to reduce movement, protect coatings, and preserve presentation during transport and retail handling. The insert strategy is designed for food safety and cleanliness: either a food-grade paperboard partition (with barrier considerations where required) or a PET tray solution can be applied depending on the product type, finish sensitivity, and the brand’s sustainability preference.
Finishing is intentionally disciplined to achieve “quiet luxury” with strong shelf presence. Soft-touch matte lamination provides tactile premium value and glare control, especially critical on darker tones. Hot foil stamping in gold is used as a hierarchy tool—amplifying key brand and seasonal elements while keeping the surface refined rather than noisy. The result is packaging that performs commercially (gift-ready, retail photogenic, scalable) while remaining technically credible: consistent fit, stable internal geometry, controlled finishing, and repeatable QC across batches.
Produced end-to-end by Shabouk Printing & Packaging in the UAE, this project is built for the gifting expectations common across the UAE and GCC, where presentation discipline, finishing quality, and unboxing ritual are directly tied to perceived product value.
Structure & Materials
Rigid board (greyboard): typically 1200–1500 gsm (≈ 1.2–1.6 mm) depending on box size and load. Wrap paper: typically 157–180 gsm art paper / specialty paper. Finish: Soft-touch matte lamination (anti-scuff recommended for dark colors). Foil: Hot foil stamping (gold) for brand + mandala hierarchy.
Insert (food-safe organization)
Food-grade paperboard partition: typically 300–450 gsm (with food-safe liner/barrier where required). PET tray option: typically 0.30–0.50 mm (food-contact suitable), used when higher precision seating is needed.
MOQ / Lead Time (Shabouk baseline)
MOQ (rigid boxes): typically from 500 units per box style (depends on size, insert type, and finishing complexity). Lead time: typically 15–25 working days after final artwork approval and sampling sign-off (varies by quantity and material availability).
